Our adult swimming lessons take place on a Tuesday & Thursday evening. The cost is €120 for a ten week term. We have both beginner and improver classes. Here at Clannlife we believe everyone can learn to swim and would love to welcome you into our swimming pool. Adult swimming classes take places on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.

ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS LEVELS
Level 1
The first stage of the Clannlife Fitness adult learn to swim programme, known as "Be Water Confident" classes, is designed for individuals with little to no swimming experience, including those who have had negative experiences in the past.
This level instils confidence, emphasizes water safety, and introduces buoyancy principles. Participants will learn essential skills such as floating, kicking techniques, and front and back glides, enabling them to move around the pool with self-assurance and remain composed when faced with splashes or when their feet lose contact with the pool floor. Instructors will provide guidance on entering and exiting the pool securely while fostering the development of necessary skills for a lifetime of enjoyable and safe aquatic experiences.
Level 2
The second stage of the Clannlife Fitness adult learn to swim programme focuses on developing the skills required for swimmers to confidently navigate short distances independently without needing support or aids.
This stage, designed for those who have completed the Be Water Confident stage or possess some swimming experience, emphasizes using swimming aids such as floats, noodles, and fins to practice hybrid strokes, old English backstroke, or sidestroke. In Adult Level 2 swimming lessons, participants build upon Level 1 skills, learning the fundamentals of freestyle (front crawl) and backstroke while enhancing their kicking techniques and propulsion. Additionally, they are introduced to rhythmic breathing, treading water, and the concept of streamlining, with continued emphasis on water safety and personalized feedback from instructors to refine their technique.
Level 3
The third stage of the Clannlife Fitness adult learn to swim programme aims to equip swimmers with the skills to independently cover distances up to 400 meters and the confidence to engage in other pool activities, such as lane swimming.
Adult Level 3 lessons cater to those who have mastered basic swimming strokes and are eager to further enhance their abilities. Participants will learn more complex strokes like the breaststroke, refine existing techniques for improved efficiency and endurance, and focus on building swimming stamina. Throughout this stage, the importance of water safety across diverse aquatic environments is continually reinforced, and personalized feedback from instructors to refine their technique.
